Barça B announce the first set of players who are leaving the club

Jokin Ezkieta, Mate, Mujica and Merveil won't be playing at Barcelona B next season as their contracts ended on the 30th June. These won't be the only departures from the reserve team this summer but the club wants to thank them for their efforts and wish nothing but success for the future.

Jokin Ezkeita

Jokin Ezkieta (22) arrived at Barça B in 2015 from Osasuna. After a few appearances for the team, he later went out on loan to Sabadell for the 2016/17 where he got more regular playing time. Last season he started 10 matches under Garcia Pimienta where the team conceded 13 goals. In August 2018, when Jasper Cillessen was injured, Ezkieta was called up to the first team in order to cover the loss of the Dutchman. 

Mate

Mate joined La Masía at a very young age. After three seasons with the Juvenil A, where he lifted LaLiga and the Youth League titles, he moved up to Barça B last season. Unfortunately, he suffered a horrible knee injury in the summer which has brought a premature end to his time at the club.

Rafa Mujica

Rafa Mujica, who said goodbye to Barça fans a few days ago, joined as a 'Juvenil'. Despite still being at that level in his second year, he made his Barça B debut and scored against Sabadell. He was officially promoted to the B side in 2016/17 and helped them gain promotion to Segunda Division A. He then went on loan to Cornella before returning to Barça last season. He made 33 appearances and scored seven goals.

Merveil

The Congolese international, Merveil Ndockyt, only joined the club in the winter transfer window from Mallorca, where he was on loan from Getafe. Barcelona have decided not to extend his stay after he played in 10 matches and scored two goals.
