The evidence is weighing up against the Brazilian, who's being held without bail

The more testimonies about what happened in Sutton's private room on the night of December 30, the more cornered Dani Alves appeals. This is how Mayka Navarro has explained the situation in La Vanguardia after the former Barcelona defender was held without bail following allegations of sexual assault last week.

Dozens of people have testified before the Unit Against Sexual Assaults (UCAS) of the Mossos d'Esquadra, seriously questioning the contradictory versions given by the Brazilian international about what happened.

According to the journalist, the statements from the two young women who accompanied the victim -- her cousin and a friend -- stand out.

Her friend explained that "[Alves] was groping her violently and that put his hand on her private parts until she managed to get away from him."

The Mossos have tried to contact all the people who were working in the club that night. They reportedly went through the Les Corts police station and the doorman working that night declared that he interpreted the young woman's anxiety attack as a sign that something was not right and took her to an office.

According to Mayka Navarro, Bruno, a Brazilian chef who accompanied the player that night, had a key oversight. After staying with the victim in the private room, he later wrote to her on Instagram to "offer" her anything she needed.

The victim gave the investigators the screen captures of that conversation.
