Eusebio: Girona deserved to beat Real Madrid
The coach was buzzing after his side slid past Real Madrid at the Bernabeu
Girona coach Eusebio Sacristan said his team deserved to beat Real Madrid 2-1 at the Bernabeu on Sunday.
"It's really important for us to win at the Bernabeu - for our fans, for our team,” said Girona coach Eusebio Sacristan.
"Maybe they were thinking they would get a second goal, but we were slowly getting back into it and getting more confident. At the end of the game it is a fair result.
"We had not won for a few games and had a tough few weeks. But we showed our attitude, and what better ground to do it in.
On Portu getting at Marcelo, the coach explained his tactics.
"Marcelo is a legend in football," said Eusebio. "Whoever plays at full-back for Madrid, they always attack a lot so when you get the ball you try to attack the space behind them."
