The Basque striker netted twice as Athletic won against Spartak in Moscow
Aritz Aduriz netted two goals for Athletic Bilbao as they beat Spartak Moscow on Thursday in the Europa League and, with seven goals, is the Europa League's top goalscorer.
Aduriz is top, ahead of Emiliano Rigoni (Zenit), Mario Balotelli (Nice), Júnior Moraes (Dynamo Kiev), André Silva (Milan) and Manuel Fernandes (Lokomotiv Moscow), who have six each.
The striker also hit three goals in the preliminary phases Athletic took on suring the summer, with one against Dynamo Bucharest and two against Panathinaikos.
Aduriz struck two against Hertha in the group, two against Ostersund and one against Zorya.
With 30 goals he's the fourth top scorer of all time in the competition, going past Gerd Muller (28). Ahead of Aduriz, who turned 37 on Feb 11, are only Henrik Larsson (40), Klass-Jan Huntelaar (34) and Radamel Falcao (31). With 25, Aduriz is fourth.
