Sevilla 2-1 Man United: Europa League kings at it again

The Andalusians turned it around to reach Friday's showpiece final against Inter or Shakhtar

Sevilla reached the Europa League final again, beating Manchester United on Sunday.

The record five-time champions showed why they are kings of Europe’s second tier with an impressive scalp in Cologne.

Bruno Fernandes struck from the penalty spot after Rashford was fouled but Sevilla levelled when Sergio Reguilon fed Suso.

In the second half substitute Luuk de Jong fired home from just in front of goal after losing the hapless Victor Lindelof and reaching Jesus Navas’s cross.

Julen Lopetegui’s Sevilla will play Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk in the final next Friday, with those sides meeting on Monday.

“The boys are devastated in there, we created numerous chances and the best team lost the game,” said Manchester United defender Harry Maguire.

“We’ve been ruthless at times this year and today we weren’t. We scored and then we maybe let them out a bit too easy and they had too much possession for our liking.

“Conceding from two crosses is not good enough but we worked our socks off out there and we deserved to go through.”
