The Seville side were beaten comfortably in the first leg of the Europa League last 16

After that 7-0 pounding at Anfield, Man United responded by taking their stress out on Real Betis in the Europa League last 16 first leg.

Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst all scored against the Seville side to give the Red Devils a comfortable first leg lead.

Erik ten Hag's side responded well to their beating to pummel former Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini's team.

Despite some calling for Bruno Fernandes to be stripped of the Man United captaincy, the Portuguese kept the armband and scored.

"I think he was the best player on the pitch," Ten Hag said. "It shows his personality, he played a little deeper role tonight, I asked him to do that, and I think he was brilliant.

"He was the leader in making the game from the back in possession, making the rhythm of the game, a lot of good passes in between the lines and from there we created a lot of chances."
