Europa League draw: Tough trip to Russia for Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid have been drawn against Lokomotiv Moscow in the Europa League round of 16, while Athletic Club will face Marseille. 

It's a tough draw for Diego Simeone's side against the current leaders of the Russian top flight, with the added difficulty of the second leg being in Moscow on March 15. 

Added to the sporting difficulties posed by Yuri Semin's side, there will also be concerns about violence after Russian supporters clashed with Athletic fans in Bilbao on Thursday. 

A policeman died as a result of the fighting between Spartak Moscow and Athletic fans before the Europa League game. 

Athletic went on to win that game and will face Marseille in the next round, while another of the big games will see AC Milan take on Premier League side Arsenal. 

Spain's third team in the competition, Real Sociedad, were knocked out by Salzburg on Thursday. The Austrian side will face Borussia Dortmund in the last 16.
