Jose Antonio Reyes will not continue at Espanyol next season
The forward didn't play enough minutes to trigger a clause giving him a second year
The former Sevilla play appeared 21 times in La Liga for Quique Sanchez Flores' side
Espanyol have announced that forward Jose Antonio Reyes will leave the Catalan club at the end of the season having not fulfilled the criteria to extend his contract into a second season.
Reyes has played 21 times and scored three goals, but a majority of his appearances have been from the bench and he has not been a regular under Quique Sanchez Flores.
The former Sevilla player, who will turn 34 in September, has showed moments of quality but has not struggled to find his very best form on a consistent basis.
Espanyol highlighted his experience and talent, saying: "The club wants to publicly thank Reyes for his professionalism and contribution and wishes him the best and great success in his personal and professional future."
