Espanyol expect more bids to arrive for Aaron in the summer

Aaron Martín has drawn interest from across Europe, with Premier League, Serie A and Bundesliga sides all keeping an eye on him. Seeing him in German football is something which could happen in the future.

That's because Espanyol turned down, sources have confirmed to SPORT, an offer from Leipzig worth around 18 million euros for the 20-year-old during the last transfer window.

It shows -- along with the club rejecting Everton's move for Mario Hermoso -- that Espanyol will only sell on their terms from now on.

Aaron is one of the standout players in Quique Sanchez Flores' team. A modern full-back, he's good on the ball and attacks down the left, which has drawn interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Napoli.

But it's Bundesliga side Leipzig who took their interest to the next level, offering 18 million. Espanyol heard what they had to say and turned it down but expect the German side to return in the summer with an improved bid.

Aaron has a contract until 2022 and his release clause is 30 million until June 30. After that date, going into the next season it will rise to 40 million.
