Incidencias

Partido correspondiente a la jornada 27 de LaLiga disputado en San Mamés bajo la mirada de 33.289 espectadores.

Facundo 'Chucky' Ferreira gave the Catalans an early lead on the night but Athletic saved a draw in the 80th minute through Raul Garcia.

Esteban Granero and Wu Lei combined inside the first 10 minutes to set up Ferreira, who volleyed home his first goal for Espanyol in the absence of regular front man Borja Iglesias.

From that point on, though, Athletic did all the attacking and Espanyol were grateful to goalkeeper Diego Lopez for keeping in the lead going into hald time.

The break came at a good time for the Pericos and they improved in the second half. Ferreira and Wu Lei both had chances to extend their lead.

But a failure to score a second goal came back to haunt them in the last 15 minutes when the introduction Ibai Gomez change the game. Ibai crossed for Raul Garcia to score what Athletic will feel was a deserved leveller.

A point each leaves both teams level on 34 points in the table, with Espanyol 10th and Athletic 11th before the rest of the teams play in La Liga this weekend.
