As coronavirus spreads, Espanyol donate 500,000 face masks to China
The Barcelona-based side hope to help limit the spreading of the virus
Espanyol de Barcelona have donated half a million face masks to help fight the spreading of coronavirus in China.
The masks are in high demand and there has been a shortage in China this week, especially in Wuhan, which is where the virus originated.
The World Health Organization declared a global health emergency last week as the coronavirus outbreak spread beyond China.
The latest figures suggest nearly 20,000 people have contracted the disease, with nearly 400 confirmed deaths.
Espanyol, who are owned Chinese businessman Chen Yansheng, showed their support to those affected before last Saturday's game against Athletic Club at the RCDE Stadium.
