The former Barca striker spoke about the Spain 2010 World Cup win

Former Spain international striker David Villa, a member of the 2010 World Cup winning squad, said that Spanish football would be making a mistake to try and find "the new Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, David Villa, Iker Casillas or Juan Mata."

"We have great players, different to those of our era, we the basis in terms of players and coaches to have a powerful national team. ANd I think that if we spend years looking for the new Xavi, Iniesta, Casillas or Puyol, we would be making a mistake," he said at a conference from the WFS Live forum.

Villa participated alongside Vicente del Bosque, Mata, and Fernando Hierro.

He said the group got along well and many "were in the best moments of their career" as the Spanish team swept to victory, a side "clearly better than the other sides (although we won) almost all games by one goal (showing) how hard it is to win a World Cup."
