After 25 years, Claudio Marchisio says goodbye to Juventus
The player, who joined the club when he was just even years old, has had his contract terminated by mutual consent
The Italian central midfielder, Claudio Marchisio, has been released from his contract with Juventus, bringing an end to his extremely successful 25-year spell at the club. "Today we close the book on Claudio Marchisio's time at Juventus after the two parties agreed to mutually terminate his contract."
He joined Juventus' academy when he was just seven years old, made his debut with the first team in 2006 and played a total of 389 matches for the Old Lady, scoring 37 times. He won seven Serie A titles, four Italian Cups and three Italian Super Cups.
Marchisio himself confirmed his departure from the club of his life with a message on social media, accompanied by a photo of him when he was with the academy side. "A thousand memories and a thousand images have gone through my head last night. I can't stop looking at this photograph and those (black and white) stripes which has been part of my life as a man and as a footballer."

"I will always love this shirt. To the point that, above all, I'm convinced that what's best for the club should come first. Always. It's a hard day like this where I'll hold strongly to that belief. You are the best part of this marvellous history," concluded the iconic midfielder.
