The striker was furious with events in Buenos Aires on Saturday

Carlos Tevez has criticised CONMEBOL after the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final was moved back a day on Saturday following an attack on the Boca Juniors bus.

The game between River Plate and Boca, at River's Monumental, will now take place on Sunday, but Tevez was furious after various of his teammates were affected by the attack. Glass from broken windows and tear gas injured several Boca players, with captain Pablo Perez even taken to hospital.

"What CONMEBOL did was a disgrace. I'm talking as a person, not as a Boca player. If they want to fight with me, that's fine. Let them give the trophy to River, let them do what they want. Give it to River, I was being sick and Pablo Perez had to go to hospital," said an irritated Tevez.

The forward mentioned that football's top authorities why trying to force them to play: "We hae directors from the AFA, CONMEBOL and even FIFA wanting us to play, we got changed three times.

"I remember the incident with pepper spray (in 2015) from the outside. I saw it on television and I saw a number of River players say not a single Boca player went to see how they were. Today, not a single River player came to see how we were, at least not from what I could see.

"This is a social problem. I think that's the biggest reason why they want to play this game [today]. It goes beyong the condition which we're in now."
