Juve flew out of the traps in the first leg of this round-of-16 tie, taking the lead through Gonzalo Higuain after just three minutes.
Six minutes later it was 2-0 when Argentine striker Higuain scored from the penalty spot.
Premier League side Tottenham then woke up and took control of the game, going close to getting back into the game on several occasions.
They eventually got a goal back in the 35th minute when Dele Alli set up the prolific Harry Kane.
All that good work nearly went down the pan when Juve won a second penalty before the break, but Higuain was unable to complete a first-half hat-trick from 12 yards.
Higuain was made to pay for his mistake in the second half when midfielder Christian Eriksen fired home a low free-kick after Alli had been fouled.
The two sides will meet in the second leg at Wembley at the beginning of March.
In Tuesday’s other game, Manchester City showed why they’re one of the favourites for this season’s Champions League, hammering Basel 4-0 in Switzerland.
They were three goals up by the break thanks to efforts from Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero.
Gundogan added his second and City’s fourth of the night as Pep Guardiola’s side headed back to England in a commanding position.
