Fans fled to the streets of the capital to celebrate the comeback

Roma fans packed the streets of the Italian captial late on Tuesday through to Wednesday morning to celebrate their team's incredible comeback against Barcelona.

The Serie A side won 3-0, reversing the 4-1 defeat they suffered in the first leg to reach the Champions League semifinals on away goals.

Shortly after the game at the Stadio Olimpico, decided by goals from Edin Dzeko, Daniele De Rossi and Kostas Manolas, the Roman fans hit the town, flying flags and beeping their horns.

Those that were in the stadium, more than 56,000, celebrated the success as they walked down Lungotevere de la Victoria, which passes the river Tíber on the way to the city centre.

Others filled Plaza Venecia in the middle of the city, with cars beeping around until 1.00am local time and the giallorossi colours on display.
