The defender was not happy about some of the decisions in the semis

Both Champions League semi-finals were notable for controversial decision making by referees.

Roma and Bayern both claimed three penalties which were not given and could have changed the course of the game.

Defender Alessandro Florenzi said that if video refereeing was available, everything would be very different.

"If VAR had been there things might have changed," said Florenzi.

Meanwhile Roma sporting director Monchi thought the same.

"The images are there, there were two very clear penalties. I don't understand how there is no VAR in the most important competition in Europe. It's the moment that Italian football raises its voice after what happened to Juventus and what happened today."

Roma owner James Pallota was raging. "It's absolutely clear that VAR is necessary in the Champions League, if not there will be ridicule like today. There were at least two penalties not given."

Dzeko should have had one when fouled by Karius but he was wrongly ruled offside. Alexander-Arnold also handled the ball which should have been given.
