Ajax will have six days instead of three to prepare for Madrid game

Ajax will have a weekend to rest ahead of their upcoming Champions League game against Real Madrid. The Dutch side lost the first leg of the last 16 tie 2-1 in Amsterdam. Despite that, the tie is not over and the Eredivisie are helping Ajax prepare for the second leg.

Ajax were scehduled to play PEC Zwolle on March 2 (18.30h) at the Johan Cruyff Arena. That's their final league game before their trip to the Santiago Bernabeu and will clearly affect how they go into the match at Madrid, whic his just three days later (March 5, 21.00h).

But the Eredivisie have helped Ajax by moving the game to March 13. Thanks to that, the Dutch team will have six days after their game against Feyenoord to rest and prepare for Madrid. Six days which could be the difference between staying in the Champions League or going out.
