Diego Simeone's answer that Luis Suarez won't like
The Uruguayan was hooked even though Atletico needed two at the Bridge
Atletico Madrid crashed out of the Champions League, 3-0 against Chelsea on aggregate. Luis Suarez was taken off around the hour mark on Wednesday and seemed unhappy about it. Diego Simeone’s words after the game won’t help calm him down.
“Taking into account the team needed to score two goals, what were you hoping for when you took off Luis Suarez?” asked a reporter.
“To score two goals,” replied his coach Simeone.
The former Barca player could only smile sarcastically from the sidelines, looking incredulous at the decision - given he’s the club’s top scorer by far this season.
However, he doesn’t score on the road in Europe. The Uruguayan has gone 25 away games in the Champions League without netting.
