Real Madrid reached the Champions League semi-finals with a 3-1 defeat by Juventus, progressing 4-3 on aggregate. Cristiano Ronaldo slammed home a 97th minute penalty to get his team there.

"We are just winners, it was a penalty, I don't know what they're complaining about," said Ronaldo. "He (Benatia) fouled him (Vazquez) from behind. Benatia does that a lot, kicking people, it's his game. But Real Madrid are in the semis and we are very happy."

Ronaldo thinks Madrid should learn something from this game ahead of the semi-finals.

"It was a game in which we suffered a lot, to learn from. In football nothing is given to you and I hope that this teaches us a lesson for the future. It's football and anything can happen. We weren't good, we have to admit it. I repeat, we must learn from this."

Ronaldo admitted he had nerves for the penalty which settled the game. "The truth is yes, but I tried to calm myself down. I knew that it was decisive. Thanks to God I scored."
