Ancelotti: It's a defeat that hurts, it hurts a lot
The Italian spoke after Madrid were pasted by City in Europe
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was in no mood to analyse his side's 4-0 defeat to Manchester City. The Italian limited himself to congratulating the English team and turning the page.
"It was because our opponents played better than us and deserved to win," said the Real Madrid coach.
Of the match, he commented that "they pressed well in the first half and got a two-goal lead. Then, in the second half, it was difficult to get back into the game. We tried, but it didn't work out."
Ancelotti added that "To evaluate what has happened now makes no sense to me. It's a defeat that hurts, that hurts a lot, but it can happen. The opponent is very strong, they played better and they deserve to reach the final".
The Real Madrid coach added: "We have to learn from this defeat to be better next season in this competition. Losing is part of the law of sport."
