Manuel Neuer returns to Bayern Munich training ahead of the World Cup
The goalkeeper wants to get back in time to go to Russia
Manuel Neuer trained with Bayern Munich in full for the first time after fracturing his foot in the Champions League quarter-final last season. Neuer has missed the season so far and he will not be ready to feature again until May 5 against Koln, say Bayern.
"The goal is if he can play some games before the season ends and go to the World Cup," said Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes. "However the priority is recovery."
In the meantime Sven Ulreich will stay in goal for Bayern. "Sven's had an incredible evolution, he's the second best German goalkeeper in the Bundesliga," added Heynckes. "[Ter Stegen] is marvellous and Manuel Neuer is Manuel Neuer."
