'Kicker' report that Bayern want to bring the German international home

Germany international Leroy Sane, currently at Manchester City, could become a Bayern Munich player as they look to renew their squad this summer, according to Kicker.

Bayern hoped to sign Sane three years ago but due to the excess of wingers they had at the time -- Franck Ribéry, Arjen Robben, Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa -- they missed out on him to City.

Now, with Robben and Ribery's cycles at the club ending, the Bavarian club are ready to move for Sane once again.

In their favour is the fact Sane hasn't played as much as he would have liked at City this season. And he has not renewed his deal at the Premier League champions, which expires in 2021.

City, according to Kicker, aware that Sane either wants to move to Bayern or let his contract run down, so could be open to doing a deal with the German champions.

During the current campaign, Coman and Serge Gnabry have been regulars on the Bayern wing with Robben and Ribery winding down. Sane's arrival would add more competition for places.
