According to Kicker, the Spanish midfielder could be forced out

Jupp Heynckes has too many midfielders and the club may need to sell some

Leon Goretzka's arrival could put Thiago Alcantara's future at the club in danger, according to Kicker. The German magazine report that the signing of the Schalke midfielder on a free transfer (he will join in the summer) could force the former Barcelona man and Arturo Vidal out.

Thiago has not played since Nov. 22 when he picked up a muscle injury in the Champions League game against Anderlecht.

Since then, he has missed 12 games in total and has missed 17 of 32 games in total this season due to fitness problems. The 15 games he did play were nearly all as a starter and he scored three goals.

The arrival of Goretzka, though, could mean changes at Bayern due to an overbooking in midfield. Along with Niklas Dorsch and Fabian Benko, he represents a bet for the future and the coaching staff may look to make cutbacks elsewhere.

Kicker believe that Thiago and Vidal are two players that could be in danger given James Rodriguez's form in recent months, while Javier Martínez, Sebastian Rudy and Corentin Tolisso are all likely to stay.

Thiago is only thinking about getting fit as soon as possible and hopefully making Spain's squad for the World Cup. If he does leave, though, it could be for the Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester United both linked in the past.
