The Norwegian forward was not boosting the noise around him

Erling Haaland cooled the situation around his future. Speaking from Norway’s training camp in Marbella he said: “I still have three years left on my Dortmund contract and am not worried about the rumours.”

Asked if he and Kylian Mbappe were going to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi at the peak of world football, he replied with humility that “they are still far away”.

Haaland was angry at the weekend when his two goals didn’t help the team beat Cologne. He stormed off down the tunnel, throwing his shirt at Jorge Mere, who had asked him for it.

“I was very angry, out of control and I ask for forgiveness for what I did,” added Haaland.
