Bayern Munich sell defender Dante to Wolfsburg

Four months after claiming he would like "1,000 Dantes" in his Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola has sold the Brazilian centre-back to Wolfsburg.

"He is an incredibly important player for us. I'd like 1,000 Dantes in my team," the former Barcelona boss had said in April.

But now the 31-year-old will ply his trade at the Volkswagen Arena after his transfer accept was accepted by the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "Dante simply wanted the chance to play regularly. We did not want to deny him this opportunity. We would like to thank Dante.

"FC Bayern enjoyed great success in his time at the club, with many wonderful moments and trophies. We've also come to know and value Dante as a very agreeable and likeable person. We wish him all the best for the future."
