Betis copy Atletico in bid for Borja Iglesias
They want to pay in installments for the Espanyol forward
Real Betis want Borja Iglesias after his fine season taking Espanyol into the Europa League. However Rubi, who left Espanyol to coach Betis, has been told by his former club that the cost of the deal will be Borja's release clause, which is 28 million euros.
Betis cannot afford to pay that in one go, so have turned to the solution that Atletico Madrid are using to try and sign Joan Felix. They want to pay in installments - Atletico have offered that to Benfica and are in theory overpaying by 6m euros for Joao.
Betis hope that Espanyol accept a bid of 33 million euros in three payments of 11m a pop.
