Reports in Germany suggest Bayern are looking for a cheaper alternative to Roca but, at the same time, haven't ruled out bidding for him again

Reports in the German media confirm that Bayern Munich have decided not to sign Espanyol's young midfielder Marc Roca. The main issue being the player's cost, €40m, and they are now looking at alternatives.

Once Renato Sanches completed his move to Lille, many expected Bayern to replace him with Roca. For now though a deal looks unlikely.

Espanyol have insisted they won't accept anything less than Roca's €40m buyout clause but Bayern feel that is too much.

The 22-year-old midfielder is a key member of David Gallego's squad and has played in every official match so far this season.

Whilst a move to Bayern is off the table at the moment, they haven't ruled out coming back in for him before the transfer window closes.
