Xavi explains the differences between coaching Man City and Barcelona

The Barça coach believes there is much more patience at the European champions

Xavi Hernández believes it would be challenging to spend as much time on the Barcelona bench as Pep Guardiola has been at Manchester City. The demands are entirely different. At least that's what the coach from Terrassa assured in the press conference prior to the match against Real Betis in the league this weekend.

"You won't judge me by my work," Xavi said Friday, addressing the media. "There is not the same patience. City and other clubs have nothing to do with Barcelona. I am sure Pep knows that. The level of demand, stress, the need to win. It is different here. This is a huge club and you will demand that I win.

"Winning is a consequence of a style. There have been very good matches, others not so good. Some we played well but didn't get the result. In Munich, for example. You told me this was about winning. This is Barcelona. We understand that winning comes from playing well. Here, there isn't as much patience, I know that."

The Barcelona coach is well aware of the demands and stress that come with being the coach of Barcelona, above any other bench in Europe. In addition to results, Xavi is also expected to deliver attractive football. Dealing with this combination for many years is indeed challenging.
