Xavi 'responds' to Ancelotti: Camp Nou could host World Cup 2030 final

The Barcelona coach spoke about the news this week about the 2030 World Cup hosts

Xavi Hernández has commented on the confirmation that Spain will be one of the hosts of the 2030 World Cup. It will be a unique event that will be played in six countries and on three different continents -- Spain, Portugal (Europe), Morocco (Africa), Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay (South America). The Barcelona coach spoke about it in the press conference prior to Sunday's match against Granada.

""The format for the 2030 World Cup is not a normal format, playing in several countries," said Xavi. "But if that's the decision, it's because they think it is for the best."

After that, he was also asked if Camp Nou could be ideal to host the World Cup final. And he had no doubts: "Of course it would, why not. It's the stadium with the largest capacity."

These statements are very different to those made by Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian coach was also asked about where the final should be played and 'Carletto' argued that, as Madrid is the capital, it should be played on Madrid soil and, specifically, at the Santiago Bernabéu. For Ancelotti, Real Madrid's home is the best stadium in the world.

We will finally see where the long-awaited World Cup final will be played. There are still seven years to go before Spain hosts a World Cup that looks set to be tremendously exciting.
