Will Barça make a late move for Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara?

Thiago Alcantara has told Bayern Munich he wants to leave, despite winning the Champions League, but where his future lies remains unknown. He put on fantastic performances for Spain in the UEFA Nations League and won't be short of offers this summer.
As things stand, Thiago will return to training with Bayern Munich this week. He's got a year left on his contract and will act professionally until there's a decision to be made. Yet there's a strong belief Thiago won't remain at the club next season.
Liverpool and Barça
Liverpool are the frontrunners to secure Thiago's signature. He's desperate to try his hand in England and would jump at the chance of joining the Premier League champions if they agree a fee with Bayern. The German side want €30m whereas Liverpool feel a deal closer to €20m would be fair.
Another option for Thiago could be a return to the Camp Nou. Barça haven't made a move yet but should a move to Liverpool fall through, Thiago would be a fantastic low-cost addition to Koeman's squad.
Wijnaldum is key
Coincidentally Thiago, Liverpool and Barça's paths are also intertwined by another player: Gini Wijnaldum. Koeman wants the Dutch midfielder and if Liverpool agree a deal to sell him to Barça, it could free up funds for them to complete a deal for Thiago.
This week could see a lot of deals be completed ahead of the new season beginning.
