What's going on with absent Barcelona man Arthur Melo?

Arthur Melo has not been in the Barcelona squad for several games, but it's also been a while since he appeared in training. Since Dec. 1, when he played against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano, there has been very little news about the Brazilian midfielder. 

The club say he has a problem with his pubis and that it prevents him from playing or training normally. However, currently, without a medical report, it's unknown if the treatment he's undergoing is working.  When asked about the situation, coach Ernesto Valverde did not give a clear answer, either. 

So far this season, Arthur has been unable to play regularly in La Liga and has only completed 90 minutes on three occasions. 

The Barça midfielder is still not training with his teammates. He wasn't training on Thursday and it seems unlikely he will be available at Real Sociedad this weekend. 

His presence in the Clasico was a given at one point, alongside Busquets and De Jong, but that is now on stand-by as we wait to see how long he will remain on the sidelines.
