Verratti signs a contract worth 30 million euros... with Nike
The Italian international's previous deal with Puma had come to an end
Verratti remains a Barcelona target but PSG have so far refused to sell
While his future at club level remains in the air, Marco Verratti has agreed a juicy new image rights contract. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has signed a huge deal with Nike, according to L'Equipe.
Until now, the Italian international had an agreement with Puma, but with that contract coming to an end he has decided to switch to North American giants Nike and will receive 30 million euros over a 10-year deal for doing so.
The contract makes Verratti one of the best paid players in Europe by a sports brand. 'So Foot' even joked that if he's capable of signing two more deals worth a similar amount, he'd be able to pay for his own transfer to Barcelona.
What is currently true is that PSG have said they will not sell Verratti and so far have refused to listen to Barça's offer or the player's request to let him move to Camp Nou.
Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu has admitted the Catalan club want Verratti and the midfielder wants to come, but for the moment PSG will not negotiate a deal.
