Umtiti explains why Suarez & Neymar laughed at him in early Barça days
'Big Sam' has settled in quickly but he had to get through the first few days to do so...
Samuel Umtiti has adapted without problems to life at Barcelona, in the city and with his team-mates. His likeable and relaxed character has helped him settle in. But to do so he had to survive his first few days in the dressing room, when he was the focus of Neymar and Luis Suarez's jokes.
In an extense interview with France Football, the player revealed a story about those early days: "Neymar and Suarez were enjoying themseves at my expense, taking the mick out of my hair. I don't think they'd ever seen hair like it."
Shortly after, though, 'Big Sam' was able to gain some revenge during a mini-game in training when he was paired against Luis Suarez. "He asked me to take it easy, but I ended up winning the game and I was happy."
The Blaugrana defender returns to action this week having been given the green light to play against Hercules in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday. He's also an option for Luis Enrique for the Clasico against Real Madrid on Saturday.
