Barcelona are interested in the Dane but only if they don't get Griezmann

Tottenham have reacted and are ready to safeguard Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, one of the London side's star players.

Spurs, who know that Eriksen is interesting a number of European clubs, including Barcelona, have offered him an improved contract.

Due to interest from Barça and other big European clubs, Tottenham have offered Eriksen an extension through until 2023 -- his current deal runs until 2002, but now the Premier League club want to prolong that and give him a wage hike.

After handing a new deal to coach Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs now want to tie down their best players: including Eriksen, Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Before signing his renewal, Pochettino met with Eriksen in Copenhagen, where they spoke about next season's project. The Argentine does not want to lose the midfielder.

The Danish international is an option if, for whatever reason, Antoine Griezmann doesn’t sign for Barça this summer.
