The deal would see the Brazilian join Chinese side Guanghzou Evergrande on loan with a compulsory clause to buy him in January

Barcelona erronously announced on social media platform Weibo that they'd reached an agreement to sell Paulinho to Guanghzou Evergrande, although the post was quickly deleted. This is according to 'Todomercado'. The post said Paulinho would join the Chinese club initially on a loan but with a compulsory purchase to take place in January. The fee is said to be €50m and would be available for Barcelona in the next transfer window, not this one.

The negotiations are very, very advanced and Paulinho could leave Barcelona in the next few days. There isn't a lot of time left to negotiate as the Chinese transfer window shuts on the 11th July. The club hoped to receive the documents to finalise the deal yesterday but they didn't arrive. If everything the agent claims is true, the player will leave.

Paulinho has already been a success at Guanghzou Evergrande, a team which he quickly become idolised by their fans. At Barcelona he's performed to a good level but he's never nailed down a starting spot and for this reason is open to a move back to China. It would also see Paulinho receive a significant wage increase.
