Leo Messi is the only reliable goalscorer away in Europe for Barcelona
Barcelona have one of the most powerful attacks on the planet but Lionel Messi is covering the cracks away from home in Europe.
They beat Prague 2-1 on Wednesday with a goal from Messi and an own goal.
Luis Suarez is the most obvious case. The Uruguayan has not scored in 20 games away from Camp Nou in the UCL, that’s 4 years and a month, 1,498 days.
Antoine Griezmann is suffering from the same problem too.
Barca’s marquee summer signing has not netted away in the UCL for two and a half years, since he scored at Bayer Leverkusen in Feb 2017. That’s 11 games without a goal.
And the other forward, Ousmane Dembele, has gone 10 games without a goal away in the UCL, including with Borussia Dortmund.
So only Messi is filling his boots in Europe. That’s insufficient, with Barcelona last winning the trophy in 2015.
