The only conversation Pique had with Chigrinskiy in one year at Barça
The Catalan defender spoke to La Resistencia about his one-time teammate
Gerard Pique visited his friends at 'La Resistencia' while in Madrid this week who had 'trolled' him the previous night by calling him Luis Figo for appearing on rival show 'El Hormiguero'.
The presented Broncano asked him about a former Barça defender, Dmitro Chigrinskiy. The Ukrainian was requested by Pep Guardiola and cost the club around 25 million euros. But he lasted one season and left with more questions than praise.
"Once, one of the first sessions after his signing, I tried to indicate some defensive instructions to him, about covering etc. He didn't speak any Spanish, obviously, so it was half English and half with signals, trying to explain," Pique said.
"I dedicated a good while, around 15 minutes, to it. I finished the explanation, he turned around and he went. I thought: Has he understood? We never spoke about it again."
Chigrinskiy played just 14 times for Barça. He is still playing, currently with Greek side AEK Athens.
