The numbers in the deal taking Memphis Depay from Barca to Atletico
The Dutch forward will become an Atletico player in very near future
Memphis will officially become an Atletico Madrid player in a question of hours. The rams sounded when the player did not turn up at training, a sign his transfer to Atletico was going to happen.
The Dutch forward will land in the capital as a replacement for Joao Felix, who left for Chelsea on loan. The deal is for between three and five million euros, and will run until 2025. Coming from Lyon, Barca picked him up for free in the summer of 2021.
Last season he did well with 13 goals in 38 games, and two assists. In the current campaign Xavi has not played him much and he’s scored one goal in four games.
The deal with Atletico was done in terms of Memphis’s personal terms but they were waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement - Barca did not want to let him go for nothing.
The forward earned around 4-5 million euros at Barca, who will be able to save that now in salary.
