Twitter exploded on Monday with countless messages criticising the Barça president
The campaign comes after the defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup
The August calm on Twitter was broken this Monday night when the hashtag #BartomeuDimiteYa was launched against the FC Barcelona president. The tag was so popular it became a global trending topic.
The Twitter users, presumably Barça fans, although it's impossible to know for sure on social media, made the message their own and added their own messages demanding that Bartomeu and his board resign now.
The hashtag was launched just 24 hours after the painful defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup and on the same day the club announced a new signing, Paulinho.
After this Twitter tsunami it will be interesting to see what the reaction of the Camp Nou is during the first league game on Sunday against Real Betis.
