The dance continues: Who will be the next Barça coach?
Roberto Martinez and Gallardo have moved away from the favourites
The coming hours will be important in Barcelona’s future. Not just for the clash wit Atletico Madrid but also potentially the appointment of a new coach.
Erik ten Hag has been the latest to join the rumour list. The first four strong links were Roberto Martinez, Marcelo Gallardo, Andrea Pirlo and Xavi Hernandez.
The first two of those have moved away from the link in recent hours. However neither Pirlo nor Xavi have spoken publicly and both seem ready to take on the role. Pirlo is a free agent and Xavi is at Al Sadd in Qatar.
Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel are interesting but inaccessible to Barca at the moment, with contracts until 2024. Ten Hag is tied down until 2023 at Ajax. Joachim Low, a free agent, could also be a choice until the end of the season.
