Quique Setien is the new Barcelona coach. The Catalan club announced on Monday that they had reached an agreement for him to replace Ernesto Valverde on a deal until 2022. He then arrived in the city later that day, where he is currently staying at the hotel Sofia.
Setien travelled to Barcelona once he knew that an agreement had been reached and he will get to work on Tuesday. He will take his first session at the training ground in the morning before travelling to Camp Nou to be officially presented and grilled by the media. He will then take a second session in the evening.
At 2.30pm local time, he will be presented in the Auditori 1899 and will give a news conference, alongside president Josep Maria Bartomeu and sporting director Eric Abidal.
Setien, 61, takes over a Barça side top of La Liga and in the last 16 of the Champions League -- and they are still to enter the Copa del Rey -- so there is plenty to play for between now and the end of the season.
