Sergi Roberto renews Barcelona contract until 2022
The club announced the deal on Friday, one day after Pique's
FC Barcelona have reached a deal with Sergi Roberto to renew his contract until 2022 with a release clause of 500 million euros.
The midfielder's current deal expires in 2019 and has just 40m as a get-out clause, which the club wanted to increase.
"FC Barcelona and Sergi Roberto have reached an agreement on a contract renewal, which will keep the player at the Camp Nou through to 30 June 2022. His buyout clause has been set at 500m euros," said Barcelona. "The date and venue for his official contract signing event will be announced in the coming days."
Sergi Roberto followed Pique, who renewed his deal to the same date the day before, as well as the likes of Leo Messi and Ivan Rakitic, who also renewed their deals earlier on.
