The Barça board like the idea of bringing Vela back to Spain

Barcelona's 'secret' forward target for January is Carlos Vela. The former Real Sociedad player, now of Los Angeles Football Club, is liked by the Catalan club, according to Cadena Ser.

The club have even made him their top target this month after Munir moved to Sevilla. In the case a deal can be pushed forward, it would be a return to La Liga. The striker spent six seasons with La Real before moving to Major League Soccer last year.

Alvaro Morata is still the second option. With 15 days to run in the transfer window, the Chelsea man is another candidate. Both are liked by the club, because they know the league and could adapt quickly.

Coach Ernesto Valverde wouldn't comment on names the club are pursuing as they seek Luis Suarez backup in his press conference on Wednesday. Instead, he's focused on the Copa del Rey game against Levante.
