Alvaro Morata wants minutes guaranteed before Barca move
The player does not want to come if he will not have an important role
Barcelona are searching for a forward and one option is Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, who might arrive on loan. However the club believes the operation is complicated. Not just for the high costs n involved but because Morata wants to have minutes at his next club and Barcelona know that will be complicated here.
Morata was offered to Barcelona a few weeks ago. The deal was more for June, but with Chelsea signing Gonzalo Higuain and Barca selling Munir El Haddadi, a loan move earlier is being discussed.
The player has received offers and is thinking about them. He knows it’s an important moment in his career and moving to Barca will be tricky to get game-time.
Atletico Madrid are also interested in Morata and it’s clear he would play more under Diego Simeone.
Morata has not made a definitive decision yet. He didn’t adapt well to life in London and Chelsea know the best thing to do is let him go.
However they want 3m euros for a loan fee and payment of half his salary. Barca are negotiating on that front, but have opened conversations with two other players too. There is a plan B which is advanced.
