Samper rescinds his contract at Barça and will join Iniesta at Vissel Kobe
The La Masia graduate, who has suffered with injuries, will say goodbye to Barcelona today before joining the Japanese side
Sergi Samper will leave Barça and play for Japanese side Vissel Kobe. The midfielder has reached an agreement to terminate his contract early and he'll say his official farewells on Monday.
The youngest will finally put an end to his long career at the Camp Nou. It began at the FCB Escola and he's since played in every youth category. The agreement is complete, aside from some minor details, before it'll be made official. Today, Barça will announce the decision to let Samper out of his contract and the player is expected to confirm his future plans.
Samper hasn't enjoyed success with the first team since he was promoted to it in 2016. He spent time on loan at Granada but poor results saw his manager Paco Jemez sacked and, with it, saw his chances in the team reduced. He returned to Barça and Jemez, now at Las Palmas, brought him in again. He suffered a serious injury though and returned to the Camp Nou early.
He's only played 13 matches for the first team and injuries haven't helped him in his quest to secure a role in the squad.
