The defender suffered some whistles and chants at the Reale Arena but Barca won 1-0
Real Sociedad fans met Gerard Pique with some whistles at Anoeta that grew as the minutes passed. Then they sang at him “Call Rubiales, Pique call Rubiales,” referring to the leaked audios from his chat with the RFEF chief.
However the player ignored it all and put on a great performance, the best defender on the pitch. He led the team and ruled in his area of the pitch. He pushed them up the field and impressed on his first appearance since going off injured against Eintracht.
However he suffered a groin issue and struggled on through the game. Pique gave his shirt to a fan at half-time, but kept on battling, only going off in the final stages.
