Ronald Araujo's clause rises to 200 million euros
The defender is now a first team player at Barca at the age of 21
Ronald Araujo's release clause has risen from 100m euros to 200m euros in the past few days, after Barcelona included him as a first team squad member for this season. The 21 year old Uruguayan centre back has the No 4 shirt and will appear for Ronald Koeman's side regularly, it seems, this season.
He signed for Barca on August 29, 2018, for five seasons. The clause of 100m euros was set to double 'if he arrived in the first team'. That occurred officially on Monday when he got the No 4 shirt and was given La Liga clearance as a first teamer.
This rise is good news for Boston River, whom Barca signed him from. They spent 1.7m euros on the player but there is a series of variables which could see that rise to 5.2m euros.
The modest Uruguayan side will get some money - they got some from for his debut under Ernesto Valverde and now he's officially in the first team squad they'll get some more.
