The Basque club's sporting director say they will not sell the defender

Barça would therefore have to pay his 32 million euro buyouy clause

Real Sociedad sporting director Loren has confirmed Barcelona's interest in signing Iñigo Martinez. Loren admitted Barça have been in touch but said La Real are not open to selling.

“It's true Barca have spoke with us. They've been in contact to show their interest in the player. But so far there is no offer on the table. That's all we can say," Loren said in a press conference.

He did add, however, that the club don't want to sell: "La Real have no intention of facilitating Inigo's exit to any club. He is irreplaceable. We do not want to sell him."

However, he admitted that if a club pays the 32 million euros release clause and the player wants to go, there is nothing the club can do.

Barça have already spoken with the player and an agreement is in place. The club are going to pay the release clause as they realise there's no chance of negotiating with La Real.
