Los Blancos are in the market for a striker for next season

Real Madrid have sounded out a move for Arsenal striker Aubameyang. Los Blancos are looking for a goalscorer for next season and feel the ex-Borussia Dortmund man could be a good option as he will move into the final 12 months of his contract this summer. He would cost around 50 million euros. Barcelona are also keen on Aubameyang as the backup option to Lautaro Martinez.

Madrid have looked into several options as they seek competition for Benzema, although there's fierce competition on the market and a lack of players. They moved for Lautaro, but the Inter Milan striker made is clear his priority is to move to Barça, so Florentino Perez dropped out of the race. Aubameyang has been in the club's orbit for years, but the club have never reached an agreement to sign him.

Aubameyang's contract situation makes him an attractive option for Europe's biggest clubs. He has refused an extension and wants to leave this summer. Barcelona was on the table in January but the London club would not negotiate. Barça remain in contact with his people but have made it clear he's not the first option. Aubameyang will wait, but he's listening to other clubs, too.

Inter Milan, PSG, Manchester United and now Real Madrid are interested. Madrid are the latest to join the hunt. Aubameyang wants to make a decision in June, although the coronavirus crisis could delay things. Arsenal know they have to sell if they do not want to lose him for free.
